How to get a Driving Licence Kat B. (Cars)

Basel Land

1.  Download the application form and fill in the particulars.
2.  Participate the first aid course.
3.  Visit an optician,make the Eyetest.
4.  Go to the Gemeinedeverwaltung in your Commune.
     Carry with you: ID, Applicationform, 1 coloured pic, First Aid Confirmation.application for theory Test in Laufen
5.  They keep the Documents and forward to the Motorfahrzeugkontrolle (Traffic Authority) in Füllinsdorf.
    After the validation your Documents, you can register for the Theory Test. (more info`s scroll down)
    pls. inform the authority, that you want pass the Theory Test in Laufen. (they offer the Test in english )
6.  If you`ve passed the Theory Test, you receive a provisional Drivers Licence.(valid for 2 Years)
7.  Start Driving Classes.
8.  Join Verkehrskundeunterricht (VKU). Awarness Course.
9.  Practical Test. The License will be valid for 3 Years.
10. Within the first Year absolvate 1 Day extra training. Called 2 Phasen Kurs: www.easy-drive.ch      Drive Swiss Wohlen

      from 2021 Onwards only 1 Day.

Basel Stadt

1.  Download the application form  and fill in the particulars.
2.  Absolvate the first aid course.
3.  Visit an optician,make eyetest.
4.  Go to Motorfahrzeugkontrolle, Clarastrasse 38. 2nd floor. counter 27+28  
     Carry with you: ID, Applicationform, 2 coloured pics,First aid confirmation,application english theory in Laufen
5.  They keep the documents.
     After validation your documents, you can register for theory test.(more info`s scroll down)
     pls. inform the authority, you want pass theory test in Laufen. (english only)
6.  If you`ve passed theory test, you receive a provisional drivers licence.(valid 2 years)
7.  Start Driving Classes.
8.  Join the Verkehrskundeunterricht (VKU) Awarness Training.
9.  Practical test. The License will be valid for 2 Years.

Theory Test:

If you life in Kanton Basel Stadt or Basel-Land, your Theory Test is in Münchenstein.

Offered languages are: German,Italian,French. 

If you don`t understand this Languages, you can appear at the Testcenter in Laufen.

They offer the Test  in English.

First: you have to apply at the Traffic Authority for the english theory.
